Pupils' Panto Fever!
Broad Street Community Centre in Cowdenbeath are hosting an M&M production of the pantomime Pinocchio on Friday 16 December 2011. Click here for more information about the production.
We always to try to support events in the local areas where our instructors live and work, so we were delighted to help when again approached by Broad Street Community Centre. They held a drawing competition ~ open to all the Cowdenbeath Primary Schools ~ for the pupils to depict a character from the panto.
It was incredibly hard to choose a winner with such a high standard of entries but, with a little help from Broad Street's Education Worker, we finally settled on the excellent entry by Dean at St Bride's RC Primary (pictured left). I'm sure you'll agree the likeness is uncanny! The winner received tickets ~ for him and his classmates ~ to attend the panto, all paid for by Eezydrive. On no we didn't.....oh yes we did!
Well done Dean! We hope you ~ and all your classmates ~ enjoy the panto!
The Theory Test Academy
We'd run theory test courses in the past ~ but only half a dozen or so each year, in rented space, which was less than ideal. They always proved successful though ~ when we compared our pass rates to Government statistics, they literally double customers chances of passing their Theory & Hazard Perception Test!
As the DSA have recently closed the only Fife Theory Test Centre, those living in Fife now need to travel to Edinburgh, Dundee or Stirling to sit their Theory Test ~ another reason why you only want to sit it once! Feedback told us that our customers were often struggling to find the time / discipline / motivation etc to properly prepare for their Theory test ~ and it wasn't unusual for a customer to be well prepared for their practical driving test, but unable to sit it as they hadn't been able to study for their Theory test or (worse) had failed the Theory test!
We made the bold decision to custom fit some premises, where we now hold courses three or four times each month! We've responded to feedback received in our previous courses and have made a few improvements too!
To celebrate the opening of our new premises, we ran a free weekly prize draw for our customers, where they could win a free space! There's was no catch ~ you just needed to be an Eezydrive customer to qualify! The winners of the free spaces are listed to the left.
At the moment, we're running the courses over three consecutive evenings during the week, but we're looking to maybe review this after the year and pilot a few daytime and/or weekend courses.

Brake & Safe Drive Stay Alive
We've always been passionate about road safety and we are dedicated to providing a very high standard of tuition to our customers to help them become good, safe drivers, for life.
We are therefore very proud to be affiliated with both Brake and Safe Drive, Stay Alive ~ charities dedicated to reducing road traffic accidents and making the roads safer.
We are looking to offer road safety training courses in our training premises shortly ~ and will be delighted to be invited along to visit youth groups, schools ~ or anyone who else who may interested in learning about road safety. Racewall Mini Stocks
Eezydrive are delighted to sponsor the Mini Stocks racing at Cowdenbeath Racewall ! We try hard to support worthwhile local events where our instructors live and work wherever possible ~ and, as a regular haunt of one or two of our instructors ~ Cowdenbeath stock cars seemed an appropriate choice!
You must be aged between 10 and 16 to compete in a Mini Stocks race ~ which is pretty amazing when you see the knocks and bumps these cars often take! Needless to say, this is a different kind of driving from the skills that our instructors teach ~ but it is a skill in itself!
So, next time you're looking for something to do at the weekend ~ go along and check out some rather impressive driving from those too young to be on the roads!
Another New Addition to the Team!
We're delighted to welcome John Blackwood into the Eezydrive team!
Again, as with all of our driving instructors, John is a fully qualified ADI, who has been teaching in Fife for a fair wee while. As with all of our instructors, John was hand-picked by us after chatting with him at length ~ and with a few of his previous customers. We're certain he'll fit right into the team! Not only is he a well qualified, hard-working instructor, he's a lovely gentle, funny man ~ who is firm but fair!
Our only slight drawback is that he's camera shy and he's managing to get in and out of the Eezydrive office well before we can reach for the camera! A photo will follow soon!

Inclusion to the DSA ORDIT Register
After successful inspection by the DSA, we are now officially on the ORDIT (Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers)
The DSA examine the overall standard of instructor trainers and supporting office staff ~ and will only include you in the Register when they feel that your standards meet every stringent criteria. Inspections don't come much tougher than those conducted by the DSA ~ trust us!
It's a veritable minefield out there for those thinking about becoming a driving instructor! The best place to start would be to speak with an ORDIT registered company ~ you can be pretty sure that they know exactly what's required.
